Getting going

I have never been one to follow a religion. I always found organized religion to be hypocritical and shallow. I went to churches of many faiths in my lifetime. You name it, I tried it. I always said in my twenties, that if I was ever going to be a member of any "faith", I would be Buddhist. I didn't study, led my life, had kids. Always meaning to get to the study of Buddhism. I continued to go to churches off and on of differing faiths, never finding what clicked for me. I just could not believe in the bible as anything other than a fable. Nor could I believe in some hippie looking guy floating above in the heavens watching us all. I could believe that there is a right way to live, think and behave and that these things are within me. So I am taking it seriously now at 53 years old. Trying and stumbling as I go. I created this website for myself and for others who are just getting started. I hope some of the info I post and share as time goes on will be helpful to others and myself.
